Does anyone know if I can use a wiper motor from a different make of car on my '84 944. There are no 944s in the breakers yards around me? Thanks.

Probably.

Why not ask Eurocarparts for the Bosch factor part, probably VW/Audi based and cheap. Don't get motors from dismantlers if you can help it - they may be seized or have worn out contacts. That is purely for the professional skinflints like Iguana

Nice one Im new at this old car game so any help is much appreciated. Thanks for the advice about old motors - I was hoping to do it on the cheap but maybe thats not a good idea.

Try Porschapart, they will gurantee it, It saves messing around trying to find a match. ( I am a professional skinflint, and it always works for me)

If you need it, www.eurocarparts.com is the URL. They have a good selection of bits and good service. Helped me out when German and Swedish (their main competitor) couldn't.

I bought a complete new mechanism for my S2 from the main agent went in expecting the usual "yes sir thats £2000 and Natalie will make you a cup of coffee while we get you one" It was actually 60 quid for the whole casting with all the bits on it. Just call a new motor may be cheaper than you think.

Thirded. I got a replacement driving light lens from them for my lux and a full set of bushes/balljoints for the front is winging it's way to me from them as I type. Very very helpful and knowledgable.
