It's Stefan Roser, Ruf test driver. The video is available on VHS and is called Faszination Nurburgring or something similar. Yep - amazing bit of driving. It's not quick but it's spectacular.

What I meant to say was the lap itself wasn't that quick. Yes - the car is a seriously quick tool, especially considering it's age. Set up a bit more neutrally and with that bloke at the wheel I bet a staggering lap could be done. My dad raced a Griff 500 for the factory against Stefan Roser in a RUF at the Goodwood in the Mulberry Challenge (Festival of Speed?). Dad said Roser had amazing car control and the Ruf came past the Griff like he was standing still. They reckoned the Ruf had in excess of 600bhp on tap so I guess it bloody well should be fast. His tyres were scrap after a couple of laps lap mind...!

Didn't matter anyway at the end of the day as it was all a bit of fun. Dad won in the end mind and got a load of Mulberry gear
