NO...but despite the audacity to respond to the post,,having driven GT3 in mk1 & mk2 guise, as well as other specialised pork....these cars are designed for a purpose...if you are considering track work, then they come into their own, testing a mk2 GT3 i found the front end patter and abs kicking in under hard braking a hinderence on a b road run..Where as your C4S on a similar road, wou;d undoubtadly be the faster car particularly in the wet.
I beleive there is less ground clearance, for a start the front PU bumper is more aggresively styled, there is a sacrificial splitter on the bottom of this. The regular GT3 has 30mm lower setting and the C4S has 10mm lower than std 996.
I know the RS version has fully adjustable suspension, so I cannot see the RS being any higher than the regular GT3, if you adjust the suspension to gain more clearance it will handle like a pig.
ask most Gt2/3 owners you can easily scrape the front end on a spirited B road run, not to mention speed bumps or car parks.
if you buy one of these, you have to factor in respray & splitter replacement into running costs if you use one on the road.

You might want to book your time with the Chiropractor then

911 nutter,
Have a look at the latest edition of Car magazine where the 996 GT3 RS is pitted against the 360 Stradale. They oncluded by saying that the RS is the better track day car but on the road itis not a pleasant drive if the road gets bumpy. They refer to 'spolier parts and brake ducts under the front end getting banged into the tarmac if the road is bumpy' something I'm familiar with as an owner of a mark 1 GT3 Clubsport.
Geoff
PS Autocar also compared the RS with the 360 on track recently and preferred the RS.

I have an RS (with red trim). It is my first 911 so I don't have much to compare it with. On the road it feels very well sorted. Lots of power. Better in the handling department when pushing on a bit rather than pootling about. At slower speeds it jiggles and tramlines. The engine noise is fantastic. Looking forward to track daying it soon. Went for the air con option which puts all the weight back on again.

Apparently two of these had their engines grenade at the Bedford RMA trackday on Saturday. Can't confirm as I wasn't there but it was a first hand report.
Oh, how the rumour machine (doesn't) work.....
To my knowledge, one GT3 RS had an off and started, but refused to run. OPC maintained it was grass up the exhaust (honest!!)
The only other failed Porsche I was aware of was a 996 with a blown fuse -that was all....

thanks for that. do you know if there is less ground clearance on a gt3 rs compared to the c4s? me thinks me actually wants to trade in already.... anyone got one for sale? red wheels too not blue...
C4S is a better road car and in the real world faster point to point on normal roads. clearence on the RS is very low the ones I have seen have all had the break cooling ducts worn away so that seems a "feature" they are undoubtedly a superb car no question.
Andrew Mearns at www.gmundcars.com/ has a red one at 92K Marenello have a blue one on brokerage for 99K so Andrews price seems to reflect the current market pretty well. On top of that he is a fantastic bloke to deal with.

lol I did say it wasn't reliable information as although it came from a chap who was there, he didn't speak to an owner. Funny that there were rumours it was a head problem even on the day!

i based in berkshire - work in maidenhead in queen street - from other posts there seem to be a few PHers in the area / road. If you're in the berkshire area on a burn email me and we can burn rubber in a purely streetlegal way. anyone know how easy it is to do donuts in a 4 wheel drive? have to say i am put off by the ground clearance aspects, although this would be a track car predominantly. perhaps best off with what i have for the time being. see how the beast behaves on tracks...

A friend of mine driving his new GT3RS substantially beat a Radical SR-3 round knockhill on Sunday....it's a truly devastating track car. I'd sell both my kidneys for one!
I genuinely find that hard to beleive, the SR3 is in a different league when set up correctly and piloted by someone competent.
I have a GT3 CS and SR3 1300cc (which I regularly drive at Knockhill - not my SR3 this weekend) and even though Knockhill doesn't have long, fast corners for the Radical aeros to work, it IS faster, all other other things being equal.
On a track like Donington, an SR3 would be FAR faster than anything other than a full race GT3.

911 Nutter - My car was at OPC Reading last weekend for their motorsport weekend. It normally lives near Hatfield.
Regarding its track capabilities, I agree with Clubsport and AL001 that an SR3 would/should knock spots off a GT3RS around most circuits. Perhaps at Spa or the A1 ring the GT3 might have a chance where the top speed would help regain some of the lost time in the corners.
