rear wiper arm replace
Discussion
The rear wiper arm is in two parts on teh 993 (and others of course) with one flat and one rounded arm. The flat one has snapped and I've got a replacement part from my OPC (£100+ for God's sake !!).
Went to take off teh old wiper arm assembly yesterday....errr where do I start ? Couldn't see a screw/bolt to undo, nor any clips...? Tried pulling it quite firmly but nothing. Tried rotating it btu thought I was going to snap something off.
P-car has nothing on it and a google on it revealed nothing either.
So to the Porsche collective in P-heads...any ideas ?

Sorry it helps if you actually type something
£100 quid - rip off - suggest you use a specialist in future (about £80 - still expensive!)
Remove the cap and the bolt and everything else, washers, etc, (keep a note of the order they come off in and do not drop anything into the spoiler!) until you are left with nothing else to remove and are stuck. Then squirt a little WD50 between the wiper arm and the spindel coming through the glass - allow to soak. Take a very thin blade (knife) and place between the remaining joint (about 0.5 cm up from the glass) and very carefully lever off. Suggest putting something on the glass just to protect it. The arm should know come off. The replacement is simple - just follow the reverse.
This seems a common problem on both the 964 and 993 (although the 993 replacement part is "an improvement" on the orginal 964 single spring unit) - a word to the wise - Do not touch the arm if its cold!!! Also make sure you use genuine SWR wiper blades - not Bosche.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes Andy.
