Porsche GB have offered a free Certificate of Authenticity to Porsche Club GB Members, listing the build spec and origial options of any Porsche you own.
It was launched at the Boxster and Beyond event in May, but if you email a request to customer.assistance@porsche.co.uk, they will send you an order form.

I'm pretty sure there's something like that stuck to the underside of my bonnet. And another one in the service book...If it's free it can only be a good thing. I had one for a 1970 car issued by Porsche Cars North America. The potentially useful thing is that it states the original engine number that the car was built with.
In my case it was original "matching numbers" but the person who had produced the Certificate had managed to hit "0" instead of "2" for the last digit of the engine number - it seemed unlikely that the engine had been changed for one that was only 2 further along the production line 40 years ago so I had them look into and they produced a replacement. So do check the accuracy once you get the certificate.

I doubt you will get any refund, at this is a different document to the one you will have recieved.
The Letter of Origin/ Certificate of Conformity, is still a requirement for importing/ exporting a vehicle. The Certificate of Authenticity is just a build spec, and holds no sway with the DVLA. Also it has only been available since the end of May.
