The reception of my radio is poor to say the least, I missed half the Chelsea -v- Bolton game on 5 live last Saturday.

I haven't found a aerial on the car but assume it's the fine line that runs down the centre of the windscreen.

What I'd like to do is run a ribbon aerial around the perimeter of the windscreen but can't seem to get the OE head unit out (it's a CR-11).

Does anyone know how this can be done without having to take it to an OPC who no doubt will have the right tool to release the cage?

TIA

it will definitely be (a) the amplifier in the radio (b) the ariel - new windscreen is the only solve it I'm afraid.

Hmmm, reading a few other thread about squeeky windscreens I'd rather leave well alone as I haven't heard a peep out of mine.

Any idea on how to get the head unit out?

Rather agree with Melv that a radio is just a distraction from the real entertainment, but ...

The aerial amplifier often becomes disconnected, it has power from the radio too. The windscreen aerial connection also gets disconnected - this is very difficult to fix/inaccessible, usually arises after a screen change.

If Radio 5 is that important to you, it could be cheaper to get a Walkman than fix your ICE ...

Cheers, Maurice
