West Scotland - TIPEC or Porsche Club GB

As it is summer time my thoughts have turned again to possible club runs etc. Never bothered joining before but would welcome any advice and recommendations. Local TIPEC seems to operate on the east coast and from the webpage the local Porsche Club do not appear to be too active.

Any thoughts or opinions? Cheers

I've found the Scotland PH Forum to be great since I moved up here and have been on quite a few trips - one next weekend which I can't make which includes a BBQ at someone's castle. We meet every few months and 15 to 50 cars turn up for a well-organised hoon. From Fords to Fezzas, the odd Lambo and a few Porkers, they're all enthusiasts and its a great day out. Interested to hear how you get on with your 'Porsche Only' search though; I can't seem to convince myself to spend £65 or whatever it is to join PGBC and see little traffic on the forum promoting TIPEC this far north! OJ

PCGB is very active club in Scotland. Just got back from Le Mans Classic with them. Good crowd.

Why not try this to see if you like them?

Reminder that we have an evening Run this coming Wed - 21st July.

Departing Dobbies Garden Centre - Stirling at 7pm prompt !

Depending on weather - run will either be - Callander - Lochearnhead - Crieff - and stop in Auchterader for Fish Suppers (If its going to be dry)

We will have an alternative if its going to be a wet evening. (possibly reverse route with stop in Callander for some pub grub)

Please post up if you are coming along so I can gauge numbers.


Also please remember that we are having our joint Concours event at Scone Palace on Sunday August 1st. ( I will post out further details closer to the event)

Hey guys,

your welcome to come along to our ph scotland run on 25th July, have a look in the scotland forum.

On one of our runs last year (Oct one I think) we were doing the same route as the porsche/fezza club but in opp direction, we went cameron house up rest and be thankful and down into callander (well, everybody apart from one young lady who turned left instead of right). It was an amazing sight blasting down into tyndrum to be passed by 30 or so porsches and fezza's coming the opp way (swiftly followed by our mislaid female compadre)

Try a few clubs and see where you fit best, all join them all and enjoy

Hey, just pm kmm on here and tell him your coming and he will pm you the route. Dont worry bout a raffle prize, this run is a bit quieter than usual (normally have about 50 cars) so we have stuff for the raffle.

Just pitch up at the start and feel free to bring a mate/partner if you wish (some even bring teenage kids), it should be a good day with some good banter and plenty of food.

Any questions just stick a post up on the run thread and we'll sort you out.

Will look forward to meeting you and introducing you to a few of the troops,

PCGB does a run up to Inveraray every year to the George Hotel for lunch. I can assure you the Ferraris have now been banned and only Porsches will be there this year!

We bumped into the PH crowd at Stirling Services I seem to remember and at Dalmally.

I was in the Maritime 968 CS.

Yeah, it was quite a day, cars flying everywhere, I was in a silver 996 c4s. Looked like an impressive turnout you had.

It was a good day, Porsche club were out, I passed them on way to Tyndrum, Maserati Owners
were at Cameron house and I think there were TVR owners at Green Welly when we stopped.
As most people just try and follow the car in front it would have been mayhem if all four
runs had met at a roundabout!

Your an ex Porsche man flipflop so you should know its a 964t and not a 993, also 580hp i wish,,not quite yet although it dont hang around......Unfortunately grounded headers last weekend so designing and building a new set gonna set me back a few weeks so at most i will be passenger on sunday.

Aswell as Andy(flipflop) there is plenty top blokes and their machinery go on these runs and i highly recommend!
