boxster or 964 coupe

At long last I am hopful that my 964 cab will be gone by the weekend. Fingers crossed. But what to replace it with. I wanted a coupe at first but bought the cab and was disapointed with the look. but now have owned a 964 a change is always nice so i was thinking that a early 2.5 boxster or if a dare say it a audi tt 225 coupe. Speed is not to important to me but i dont want a snail. how will the 2.5 compare with the 964 cab. i now the cab is heavy in porsche terms. i have never driven a boxster. any toughts on the audis would be good to.

Boxster and the TT are no snails but you will very quickly notice the difference in performance from the 964, however the TT does feel fast due to close-ratio 6 speed. You will also notice the TT has much improved interior design, better comfort / noise levels. You will also notice the TT has lifeless steering and a relatively dull engine sound.

I went for the 964 as I wanted more power and a more challenging drive. Got that in spades!

Having previously owned a 2.5 boxster and now having a 964C2 coupe I can say that overall, the 964 is a lot more sporty and the boxster is a lot more 'easy' to live with, but who cares? The 964 is a tremendous car for the money, and in LHD is not only cheaper but the driving position is better too.

I loved the boxster, but was always left wanting for more power. The only way I'd buy another 2.5 would be to take it to ninemeister and drop a 996 engine into it (anyone got a spare GT3 engine?

A Boxster S has a similar power-to-weight ratio to your 964.

A Boxster S is rather more expensive than a 964 it has a comparable power to weight ratio to. 964's of similar price will generally have a better power to weight ratio.
Bosster S is a great car but so is a 964RS clubsport.

Boxster S? Much more expensive, true. Better balanced? Hmmm... Conventional wisdom might say so, but there be two schools of thought on that one...

I'd say it has a 'different' balance, but I'm not sure it's 'better' per se. I've certainly been caught out by the boxsters handling.

The 964 still has a more characterful engine though, of that there can be no argument
