Porsche 918 Spyder? Good Or bad investment?

I've just been reading up on it and it sounds like an awesome piece of kit, but I wonder would it actually be a good investment?
I reckon it probably will because these sort of limited run cars tend to go up in value.

Turned out to be a good investment - Porsche 918 Spyder sells for a record price of $6 million at auctionI reckon it probably will because these sort of limited run cars tend to go up in value.

Give me one with some miles on it in the launch colour instead (looks better too imo, orange not in my top-10 for this car), for 1.5m.

This car has a unique specification and, disregarding the colour, which is well suited to the US market, the price achieved illustrates just how these prize Porsche models start appreciating in value. This example has a very low milage and will be perceived as a good addition to someone’s car collection, as it is unlikely to be driven very often.

Some speculation about the Mecum results.This one was 2x the normal stateside pricing, even with it's one of PTS it's an outlier.
Not sure how it's well suited to the US market!
