Well, like Henry at 911 virgin told me; How many owners has your house had?
I don't think you can judge a car by it's number of owners. My TT has 8 previous and is in concours condition which proved the point of every owner looks after a car and doesn't mind spending money on it in the first year of ownership (like everyone does).
Whereas a one or two owner car, the owner may become a bit blarsay about it and take it for granted?
The condition it's in today is far more important than the number of owners it's had. Besides all of this, it's not a Fiesta which might have cost £7K new and might be driven into the ground over the next five years, it's a £60K plus supercar that maintains a lot of value therefore it's reasonable to assume that if the owner needs some money, it's high on the list of things to be sold.

My House is 100 years old, we are third owners :-)))))
seriously as Henry will say no doubt, buy on condition. Check the history with previous if you can, I always try to, then evaluate service history.
They are my priorities.
As for your original question, I doubt it matters that much, not to me anyway.
Kevin.

I suppose he sold you the car aswell

8 owners suggests on a young car suggests that owners simply get bored with putting up with the negatives of the car or cannot afford to keep it. I suppose it could also suggest that they are so rich that they simply change it for something better. In any case-how can that be a good sign.
Henry-if 2 cars are in equally good condition and one has more owners than the other than surely the one with the lower owners and easy ability to correlate history to ownership is a better prospect so its wrong to say it has no bearing on the value...
Actually, I didn't buy my car from Henry, although he did lend me some good advice! I know this isn't about my car, but I actually managed to speak to three of the owners, all "upgraded" after a year. None of them were particularly happy with their 'upgrades' either!
It's just as easy to say that a one owner car has been owned by a guy with more money than sense and not looked after it.
Pick carefully. Just a tip:
I sorted out many TT's before even leaving my office. Request a copy of the service book and ring the dealers who've serviced it to check that they have. One particular 70K ish mile blue turbo 4 I was considering had never been seen at any of the garages mentioned!

Porsches tend top have many owners...dream car for some which the reality doesnt always measure up, hence they change quickly.............it does affect there desirability.I went to buy a car today to sell in my gagage 2000W 206 Gti Pug 23K miles all the right bits, right colour, right money.FSH 5 OWNERS...no thankyou.
Makes them harder to sell as we would all rather have a one or two owner car, all other things been equal.
