Drove a Cayenne today....
Discussion
Looking at swapping Mrs H's Lexus and she has always hankered after one and honestly the styling has grown on me to the point I look at them now and think they are ok.
Anyway was a late 08 plated 4.5s V8 non turbo and bloody hell it was nice, nothing like as comfy as the RX but exceptionally well planted and felt very much like a fast car to drive.
I have read a few threads on here about them but any PH thoughts are welcome.
Cheers,
Hep

I know what you mean, the competition has become ever more ghastly-looking and the Cayenne, in comparison, seems almost handsome now.Anyway was a late 08 plated 4.5s V8 non turbo and bloody hell it was nice, nothing like as comfy as the RX but exceptionally well planted and felt very much like a fast car to drive.

There's an all new 2010 model just launched.
The older one divided opinion, but the new one seems to be getting universal approval. I've been looking at the new model and it really is very nice - but, with options, quite costly.
The older one, is out of favour so the prices are very good value - a nice used one with all the toys is probably a good buy especially for winter.

move your post to the Porsche forum on here mate, few guys on there with Cayennes
I think they are lovely and was considering getting a 3.2 V6 variant for her indoors
I wouldn't get the 3.2v6 its slow and drinks as much as the V8, a friend regretted it due to the 17mpg and no go, and I had the same issues in my 3.2 Touareg (same engine) I think they are lovely and was considering getting a 3.2 V6 variant for her indoors
I think the V8 is the one to have and probably not much in the price?

Prefer the previous shape, turbo/s versions are awesome
It's the handling and the interior where the new model is streaks ahead - handles like a car, has an interior more like a luxury saloon. I've just ordered one after testing a RR Sport, ML, Q5 and X5 a few months ago and being convinced that a 4x4 was a total waste of money.garyhun said:
