New info about K&N, from an independent racing tea
Discussion
thought you all would enjoy seeing this post, from a racing team who did some testing.
If you're a racer, or a tuning house, you can certaqinly do the same test. I view this as objective info that should be passed along for people to see, so they can make their own decision.

...thanks for the heads-up. You should post it on the Rennlist Porsche forums, as it seems those guys (mainly in the US) are ALWAYS changing to K&N filters as soon as they get a car (especially all pre-996 models)!

Can't speak for the other forums, but 993 Rennlist folk generally know their OEM intake setup is about as good as it gets ......

Interesting but I don't know how reliable the source is. Also this test which I think was done by a jap mag for supra's.

Well.......I would certainly question the "credibillity" of that test, where the money comes from, who places ads in the mag, etc.
What this thread proves, is you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink it. People will buy the K&N filters due to claims of power and filtration, but sadly, they are being set up

Anyone out there know what filters cup cars use? Melv? If it's good enough for Porsche's race cars it's good enough for me...
Ahh but do you rebuild your engine every 100 hrs like a race car......
GT3 cup cars used to use EMC cone filters, not sure if they still do.
Think that's BMC, Iggy! They are bloody tiny filters, too, sitting in a big cold air plenum. Probably not designed for road use, as you say ....
Cheers, Maurice
