Adam,

Perhaps you could point us to the album or provide some search keywords to access the pics?

Where was this, Brunters?

Well done Adam. Hope the Rufs did well.

However, a little bird on blatchat hinted that a Caterham of some denomination did rather well. I will await Weds' Autocar with baited breath...

... to be expected I guess but after seeing the Ruf in action at VMax it's hard to imagine much else touching it. Go on Adam, give us a clue!

Chris, I think it was Adam's CTR that featured in this shhotout - quicker even than the TurboR to which you refer (I think I'm right in saying, right, Adam?), certainly acceleratively upto the 'aerodynamic wall' point, where 996s come good.

Having said that, I look forward to having a crack at either car next time myself because although irritatingly useless at the top end, das beetle always does rather well upto about 150-160 against anything.

Bold words I feel confident of regretting ever uttering.

Would that be the 4WD twin ZX12 engined one that's in the classifieds?

Yes the Caterham there was the new R600, a performance "behemoth" (perhaps the wrong word considering ti is so small!) The R600 had the whole caterham team with them, they were tinkering with the ECU, making the gears so that third would run out at 100mph etc etc. It beat one of our cars to 100mph but was decidedly blown into the weeds by the other ruf, the R600 did a sub 7s to 100mph

It was great fun, and actually i am regretting posting the pics now because i want to talk all about the day but cant

Chris i have a video which is editied and about 50mb, could i upload to your server again?

best wishes

Adam was it an R600? I am probably wrong as clearly you were there
I was under the impression that new Cat R500 evo was put together for this event.

Adam,

Sounds amazing.........

I can't wait for the magazine now, it's been my favourite feature for the last few years.

Where there any other tuned road cars there?

There is a road-legal Skyline GTR owned by someone I know that tested 0-100mph in 5.5 seconds on the Racelogic VBox a few months ago for a foreign car magazine. I guess the other major benchmark is the 6.3 seconds for the McLaren F1, when they did the only road-test in 1992 (that magazine is well-stored at home).
