PCM SET button

PCM2.1 with Bose integrated what does the actual “SET” setting do in the SOUND menu…there is no description in the manual and it goes up to +9…is it the effect it applies to the Surround parameter, if so what are people’s thoughts leave it at 0 or bump it up to 9?

Perhaps the spatial setting for the surrounsound alters
