Symptoms :

1 Car does not want to leave garage , especially if wet outside. If Car is forced to take to the tarmac, a visible road-rash can develop ( 'stone chips') and often a mechanical or electrical failure can be brought on.

2 Owners can be afflicted , developing nervous tendencies towards parking in public places or leaving car unattended.

3 Members of the public can succumb to envy , with undesirable consequences.

4 Prospective buyers may need psychiatric counselling if previously owned Cars have used more than one set of tyres from new or been involved in any form of repair or have been driven on a trackday.

Although this disorder is principally associated with any type of Ferrari , it can affect other 'supercar' marques.

Now feared to be spreading to certain models of Porsche following discovery of a growing 911 Garage Queen population, however water cooled models are less likely to be affected

The dealers scare them into thinking any car that has done over 5K miles in 3 years is a high miler...........that of course and the battery is always flat and a real hassle to get to.

Yes, look at dealer adverts for Ferrari. It doesn't seem to matter how old the car, they have rarely done over 40,000 miles! What the hell is the point of buying one if everyone seems to afraid to use them!(?)

Probably because they will break and will become a real hassle?

This thread needs balancing up a bit!

Bought my first 911 last November. Done 600 dry miles. Love the car to bits and hope that in 5 years time it is still pristine. Not bought as an investment or a daily driver. Bought because I have always wanted one. Nothing wrong with that!

I do expect to do a few more miles over the summer (including a couple of track days).

I guess if you live in London then driving a GT3 daily is probably not the best idea, however 600miles...

The main thing though is if you enjoy the ownership, then there is nothing wrong, but the problem is i could see you enjoying the ownership exoperience more by driving such a car
