993 MPG Figures

Just curious during these times of rip off britain what people are getting mpg wise, are folk trying to alter driving style, reduce short runs etc etc?

I did a quick curiosity test yesterday/today.
45 miles ragging over A roads up and down speed upto 6k rpm bit of stop start 18 mpg
Today Motorway steady 4k rpm, then A roads but only upto 5k rpm 24 mpg.

All totally useless info but just though i would share.

Sorry...just to add 993S showing 36k miles and as fit as a flea!

30mpg on regular 30 mile trips sticking to most of the limits

I've never measured it properly but on a motorway cruise, say sitting 75-90 the computer reads around the 30mpg mark which I think is fantastic, give or take a few for inaccuracies.

Obviously on a b road blast I don't bother looking-why would you?!

1996 (Varioram) Carrera 4 with passenger and luggage managed 28mpg this weekend: Buckinghamshire to Tyneside and back. Admittedly on high octane £1.40/litre juice.

I did 200 miles this week in my 94 C2 Cab. 20 miles in/around town but mot stationary traffic and the rest on the motorway at 70-80mph, and I got 21.3 mpg calculated (21.6 on the computer), seems rather low....have to say I'm a little concerned.

The standard C2 coupe I just sold always averaged about 15mpg - this was mainly down to the rather addictive sound of the de-cat pipes

I'm not trying hard enough. Around 22 is the average for me, and there was me thinking that was not great.

I averaged about 30 mpg when I drove to Spain in my old 993 C2 Cabriolet at around the speed limit a few years ago.

The 993 Turbo gives me about 18 mpg with some spirited driving. Which is a damn sight better than my wife's Cayenne S that we only get 16 mpg on an average week, even lower with a heavy right foot.

20-24 generally.

I've got 28mpg from a tank a few times without hanging about in France, Germany etc.

C2 Varioram manual with a/c on most of the time.

I've not really done enough lies in my 996TT to know, but when I fill up it generally says 250 miles until empty, which ain't exactly great, but what a car

21 MPG 911 SSE

Thats all i can remember bit irelevant given the rise in go go juice since original post.
