Before I start ripping the door apart to find the fault, can anyone shed some light on this? The drivers window will go down no problem, but is VERY slow closing. Sometimes opening it a little seems to free it up enough to close it a little more. Is this a common thing? I suspect its a dirty connection somewhere as the car has been out in the rain lots recently and the seals around the window isn't the best.

Cheers

You could try some wd40 in the seal sometimes they dry up, or silicone spray.

I tried giving the seals a bit of lube, but it's made no difference. I guess its door strip-down time.

From what I understand this is quite a common problem (even wheeler dealers covered it). Sadly you will have strip the door down, when you have the door card off you'll need to use white grease (is the best) you can buy it in a spray can, and spray the grease on the runners/mechanism and this should allow the window to move up and down freely! smile I still need to do this myself!

I too have this problem and have tried the WD40 option which helped but only marginally. When I took the door card off I found that the rubbers on the runners had perished and a strip on the rubber was jamming up the track. I have not got round to getting new rubbers yet, so if you do, can you let me know where you get them from, but suggest this may be your solution.

I guess Woolies'll be the place. When I get around to it, I'll find the proper profile and let you know.

I have done the grease thing, but the difference is marginal. I things its a check of the rubbers all round and a check on the voltage at the window motor. (I know that when Ferrari's get slow windows its often down to voltage at the motor caused by aging wiring and shoddy connectors)

Its come off the runners and the rear clamp is loose. Just waiting for the WD40 to loosen all the bolts off so I can adjust it. Looks like an easy fix though.

Thanks for all the relies.

Happened on my drivers side, but the passenger side freed up nicely with a bit of wd40...

Just take your time lining it up as it ain't easy first time around..
