She's broken - Oh No!
Discussion
Someone hit me up the rear on the way home tonight!
I had to stop in a queue of traffic and bang I was hit from behind. I saw it coming, going too fast in the wet. I shouted ‘Oh no you don’t!’ and tried to get out of the way driving off the road. It was not enough, I had given them an extra ½ a car length but they still hit me hard.
Poor woman was shaking, has just moved into the area (Monday) she was in a right state.
The damage does not look good….
Back end all smashed, boot lid pushed up the rear window, Drivers rear quarter light smashed, Rear wing cracked in the middle. What a mess! Not a happy bunny, now I’ll have to drive round in some crummy hire car for months, oh god no.
My daughter was devastated, cried about daddy’s new car…. What about daddy?
Still going to drown my sorrows

As its a no fault claim its possible to get a like for like replacement car whilst your baby is off the road.
A couple of lads on here had Tuscan hire cars whilst their cars were in the body shop - so it can be done.
Drop me a line, I have the company's details who will take care of the details - they might be able to help.

I got my hire car through today. A Cerb.!
I'm happy again now and will enjoy driving a different model.
Many thanks to everyone who sent kind comments about my accident. I'm just about in one piece but still hurt like hell.

David,
Glad you're ok and you've got a decent temporary car sorted out, and it looks like a good 'un, too. Happy driving!

Thanks J S G
I think that was a bit of wishful thinking on my behalf. As you said the car was registered as an 'S' but is clearly just a 4.0l. I did not pay extra for it so not worried. Also I had cause to change the registration because my name was misspelled and it has come back as a Tuscan…..
I’ll update the web site, as we should be accurate on these things. I’ll change it from time to time like the DVLA
.
I’m starting to feel a little better now. I hurt my left ankle and the clutch in the Cerb. is a bit of a bitch and hurts my ankle but I’m still enjoying
the car.

I went to Gatwick TVR today to test drive a Cerb they have there. As we got out of the car, my wife spotted the gorgeous Tuscan in the corner.
I recognised the reg and took a look at the damage.
I'm gutted for you mate.![]()

Gutted does not enter into it. If it was raining driving a Cerbie would be fine, but I cry everytime I get inot the Cerb and the sun is out. I need a big tin opener

Sadly the insurers have yet to give the go ahead. I spoke with them yesterday and they were querying the need to paint the front grille on a rear end impact. I explained that I drove off the road to try and avoid the impact but grounded the front end before I was fully out of the way. Hence impact that the rear added further damage to the grille.
I spoke with the dealer and asked what the big deal was and they said that they had quoted that work separately because there was 16 hours labour to prepare the grille for painting.

Bugger - just looked at the photos of the damage
Looks like the RHS has become a separate wing panel with a vertical crack above the exhaust? What kind of speed was the car that hit you doing and were you still moving when it struck?
My worst nightmare this kind of thing. Its a ballache when it happens in any car, but when its your recently acquired P&J, I would probably have to hit someone. (Namely the idiot driving the other car). I'm gutted for you.

I was stopped at the time when I was hit. My guess was the the poor woman (no sexist remark required) that hit me was still doing 30mph. I got pretty roughed up and the read quarter light smashed under the stress, showering glass into the car. I was not mad, it was obvious it was going to happen.....
I came round an 80mph corner at probably 60mph because it was pissing with rain and I was not quite sure of my new beast. When I got round the corner, in an unexpected place, was a queue of 2 cars and a van waiting to turn into right into a field or something. I managed to stop pretty well without any drama, although my first reaction was this looks like trouble.
I knew the car was comming behind me because I had pulled out infront of them on a round about and they were going some then, I had left them for dead though

Just thought I would give an update
Gatwick TVR are getting the parts today, they guess about 4-5 weeks for the 100 hours of work to be done.
Currently looks like I'm paying for the front repair, another item to add to the solicitors list.
I'm starting to get twitchy about when it will be back. I only had it for 3 weeks before, so it's like getting a new car all over again... I'm trying not to nag Gatwick TVR too much; they have been keeping me posted with the progress.
