Window Won't Close

I've got a fault with my mk3 windows; the passenger side goes down when you press the dash button, but won’t go back up again, and only goes up when you press the remote button on the key to lock the doors and arm the alarm. I also get an amber warning light around the door release knob on the dash which indicates a fault.

Also the driver’s side window goes half way down before it will release the door, and again I get the amber warning light around the door release button on the dash.

I’ve tried resetting it by opening both windows, then pressing the remote key button to close the windows, but it doesn’t help. Also, the little button in the middle of the door release knob doesn't lock the doors, and when you press it I get another warning light around the release knob.

Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

Sorry, can't help with what is wrong but I'm sure when I read the handbook it said you could determine the fault by counting the flashes and that related to a code.
