While I am waiting for a new sensor to arrive.

It appears to come with along lead, enough presumably back to dash.

Have others introduced a plug local near to the sensor to avoid this or can the old lead be used on the new sensor?

In my Tuscan (4.0, Jan 02) it comes up behind the fuel tank and it is then wired into the main loom. You may need to lift up some of the carpets/dig behind the tank to find it though.

When i did mine on a 2001 tuscan, the old sensor had a connector on it. i cut the connector and connected it to the new sensor wire and just plugged it back in. Works perfect.

Thank you all. Found it tucked up behind the tank and may not need to cut carpet.

It is a 3 pin 'D' type female plug if anyone knows where to source one.
