I've got a missfire, just changed the plugs, coil pack and leads are less than 2 years old and look in good condition. been told it could be the cat. any way to diagnose the cat as the problem? many thanks.

I don't know about it being the cats but the leads could have gone again if they are around 2 years old, even if they look ok, just a thought.

Couple of other things to check

When were valve clearances checked?
Throttle bodies?
Throttle pots?
Cats running hot?
Coils aren't the most reliable
Leads are a known problem.
Injectors?

Ps I am chasing a similar misfire

I have changed coil, leads, plugs, checked throttle bodies.

Intermittent low throttle misfire, popping through throttle bodies, clears itself and runs fine..

Running decats decat chip, new plugs, leads coil
