Been reading this section of the site for the last year, wanting to join in, I should be able to participate in conversation by the middle of July, I've put the deposit down on a 2002 Tuscan and collect it in the middle of July.
Can't wait to pick her up, it's to get the speed sensor changed and new rear tyres before being collected.
See you all soon :-)

They offered to do the work straight away, and already had an electrician arranged for the speed sensor, but the car is 500 miles from home, the next time I will get a chance to go down will be July.
Other half isn't looking to keen on the whole TVR idea, she knows the reputation for reliability, and the sound of the engine seemed to terrify, it's pretty different from the refined nature of the Supra.

Only took my other half for her first spirited drive in the Tuscan last week. It was great, the exhaust drwned out her screams nicely
TBH she quite likes the Tuscan (she wouldnt go in the G33 that I had before the Tusc), but she won't have a go at driving which is probably good, as the last sports car I had that she drove regularly, I lost as she adopted it as her car

Wait until she saw the pedestrians and other drivers envious looks, then she will start enjoying the attention. Well that is what happened to my Missus. Eventually Friday morning came around, after an 11 hour train ride (seriously, it's only from Glasgow, I must have slept through a delay somewhere), I get to a train station to the North West of London. It's an hour before I get the lift from the train station to the dealer, I try the idea of breakfast but it's not really happening. I've never wanted to get through paperwork as quickly before and just get moving with the car. I'm warned that the boot isn't locking properly, and they arrange for someone to repair this when I get back to Glasgow.
I've picked her up on the way to a festival, Sonisphere, Knebworth. Easily manage to fit two big camping rucksacks in the boot, a tent, a weekends shopping supply and a couple crates of lager too. This seems to go a long way to appeasing the other half, normally pretty laid back and ignoring the cars, this one seems to have drawn more attention, possible since it one in the battle between new car and kitchen. It seems to be winning her over, it is stunning seems to suggest my troubles are over.
The festival is great, fantastic, the weekend passes, leave before the end on the Sunday night to get away before the traffic. I get to the car, i'm a stones throw away from a set of floodlights and you can just see the light bouncing off the curves as we approach. I open the door, sit down, close the door and have a wee giggle as the window returns. I turn the key, and nothing. Just the immobiliser, not quite got the grasp of the routine to unlock. try locking/unlocking the car. Still nothing from the engine, the dash says battery is at 7.5/8V. 3 days in, and only 45 mile of TVR ownership, I call the AA. In the hour to turn up I go through everything I can think of that could be a problem, I'm pretty it's a battery, but I have a sick feeling as I wait, What if I bought a lemon of a car?. I remember the light in the boot, realise this has been on the whole weekend and calm down a lot. When the man from the AA turned up, 2 hours after his shift was meant to end, we found the battery point (glad I checked all this before ownership) put on the jump kit he had, she started straight away. Waited ten minutes with the kit on, holding revs around 2K RPM to charge the battery, and not risk blowing an ECU, the car ran like a dream, apart from the grass that's turning black under the exhausts.
As I pull off and get out the car park it's just a phenomenal feeling. I'm not out the car park before I've forgotten the not starting experience, I take it gently and head up the motorway. The brakes are sharp and responsive, the ride hard, but on the motorway reasonable forgiving. After 350 miles I pull into the drive, see it sitting there and think it's all worth it. Only those who are pistonheads can really understand, and the look from the passenger seat as it takes 3 shots to open the passenger door suggests she isn't one of them.

Sorry for the long story :-) in short, TVR's are awesome.

Top work!!
Colour looks fantastic! Rolex Blue? Glad you're enjoying it so far, and that you're other half is loving it too. Mine wasn't so keen on the Chim, but so far the Tuscan seems to be winning!!
Yep, Rolex blue, unfortunately a cloudy day and I'm not too great with a camera, it's also not had a wash since before being parked in a festival field for 3 days then driving 350 miles. Must wash it tonight :-)Colour looks fantastic! Rolex Blue? Glad you're enjoying it so far, and that you're other half is loving it too.
