I get code 'C' intermitently I know what 'C' code is(Water level sensor not activating zero switch) but what does this mean, is it a faulty temp sensor?

Hi!
I get a Code E nearly every time I switch on - "Fuel semsor Not activating Zero switch". But then I can scroll through the pod menus as normal.

I THINK I'm right in saying that when you turn the ignition on, the temp (and fuel gauges) swing to zero, and then register the sensor position/output?

So - I believe your error code is just saying that the little bit of alloy that swings to zero on start-up is not 'hitting' a micro-switch in the pod. Likewise, my fuel gauge is not making this microswitch as well.

Bit of a long-winded way of saying ignore the code! I would just confirm you can scroll through the pod display and you are getting a coolant temperature reading (maybe also confirm the rad fans are kicking in at the correct/indicated temperature(s).

I have code C on mine everytime I start. Goes once running. I was also told to ignore it. Never got to the bottom of it and just live with it, would be nice to be able to get rid tho.

If you get a suitable diagnostic cable and download the diagnostic software then its a simple job to reset the fault codes.

Done that. It's always there on start up, clears after a couple of seconds.

I dont think the level sensor is a code to worry about, but the water temp sensor itself is if ever you get that, it changes the fuelling and can cause start / idle problems

IIRC, it means that in the POD the rotating plate that moves to show water temp (by uncovering the gauge) hasn't triggered the switch to show it is at zero. When the ignition is on the plate shoud move to "zero" so that the electronics know it is in the start position, aftyer which it should reflect the real temp (which won't be zero unless it's the depths of winter). Same process for fuel.

Never had the problem, but usually use the digital readout for temps and pressures as the gauge isn't calibrated.

Konrod, thanks. That makes sense as I was told it was a problem with the pod.
