Just got back from a 2000 mile trip to Italy and the car was 100% reliable. Had the Tuscan for over 6 years now and 36K miles on the original engine with no rebuild. Used only 1/2 litre of oil the whole trip with strong oil pressure. Another of the several good S6 engines out there that don't need a rebuild.

Did the Stelvio Pass, the Umbraill Pass, the Passo Gavia and the Simplon Pass. By far and away, the most scary was the Passo Gavia which runs for 29km from near Bormio, and for a great deal of the route is one car wide!! Not for the faint hearted particularly when a mountain mist decides to reduce visability to less than 10 metres on the descent. At least you couldn't see the sheer drops with no guard rails. Check out some of the bikers' videos on YouTube to see just how narrow the road was.

The Lakes were magical, particularly Como.

The car stopped the traffic everywhere we went and I would love a Euro for every photo taken.

A fabulous trip and highly recommended. Happy to give any advice, hotel recommendations etc etc. Just drop me a PM.

I would love to do this, sounds like a great trip. I also have a SP6, 2003 in a Cerbera with 32k miles which is going great with no rebuild. My second SP6 after I had a Tuscan 2001 24k miles with no rebuild. My Tuscan looked just like yours, I love the Cerbera but miss getting the roof of in this weather, wish I could have both!!.

Looks like an excellent trip. Not sure I fancy the one car wide roads with sheer drops though!

Just goes to show that the reputation of the S6 engine is unjustified at times.

Photo was taken just outside Sirmione on Lake Garda. Cars are not normally allowed into Sirmione but we had a garage booked at our hotel so we were allowed in. Caused a hell of a stir!!This photo shows us leaving the walled fortress town before the tourists started to arrive.

Visitd Sirmione with brother & sister -in-law as part of 3week 4000mile Mille Miglia trips in 2006 them in Tuscan, us in Griff then in 2007 both in Tuscans. Can only concure about the interest the cars cause, especially considering all of the other exotica about.

Looks like you had a fantastic time.

Road trips like this are the best.

My old Chim does a good job of it too:

But my best trip though was in a £90.00 Cortina:

Off again in August wink

I know I should have posted this in the spotted forum but I was at Lake Garda 2 weeks ago, I was walking through Gardone Riviera (next town to salo) and heard a familiar noise turned around and spotted you, car looked good well done, there was alos a H reg S2 on my campsite as well, TVR's everywhere, I unfortunatley went in my Civic as the wife vetoed using My S3c.

Cheers.....Tony..

Sirmione must be a magnet for TVR owners. We were crawling through the crowds in Sirmione trying to get to the hotel and being accosted every minute by camera wielding visitors, when an English voice shouted "I've got one of those". SWMBO turned to me and whispered yeah yeah! At breakfast next morning, a couple came up to us and said are you the guys with the Tuscan? Turns out to be the same guys, staying out our hotel, actually do have a Tuscan and live about 20 miles from us in UK!! So a big hi to Harvey & Fleur from East Sussexwavey. Also, when we checked into the hotel, the guy on reception said that 2 visitors from Holland with TVRs had been at the hotel the week before us. So a big hi to these guys toowavey.

Hi Brent.
Brought a tear to my eye. Both my old Tuscs have featured here recently. Glad to see she is still going strong. Just goes to show how good these cars are when given some tlc.
Fabulous pics
Hope to catch up soon.
