I've finally got my Tuscan back, after having some work done to it including a new big bore exhaust system from the cats to the new shark nosed end cans, made by JP Exhausts and supplied by ACT (see images below).

It gives a completely different sound from my standard exhaust with loud straight through carbon cans, it’s more of a deeper bassier sound, and although the new cans still gives out pops and bangs on over run they aren’t as loud as with my old cans, and the whole sound although deeper isn’t as loud.

I particularly liked the pops and bangs from my old cans, the new cans are perforated inside, so I’m now thinking of having then sleeved.

I think the ACT big bore exhaust system and shark nosed cans are reasonably new, but has anyone else had them fitted and if so what do you think?

Good to see you have the Tuscan back, look good but really needs a video clip attaching.

I really like the look of these rear cans, modern looking but tasteful, but as previous post mentioned, lets have a listen.ears
cheers

Kev, we'll be at Kimbolton tomorrow if you're interested?

I'm really liking the inverse cone of that design, does make it look pretty classy.

Out of interest, what made you change the cans as well as the cat-back pipes? Did you try them with the other cans you had on?

Hi Dave

I had a little off road experience which ripped off one the the cans and damaged a section of the exhaust, so I thought as I had to have a new section made, I might as well go the whole hog and get a complete upgraded system, which won't make any difference to performance at the moment, but if I ever need to upgrade the engine to a 4.3 or 4.5 the new big bore exhaust wouldn't restrict it.

I'll try an get a video or sound clip on here later.

I really like that, sound similar to V8 Ginetta G33. Much less harsh and raspy than my Tuscan

Yeah Kev, we're planning on being there, just waiting for Zoe to confirm it's at The Plough in Fen Ditton. See you there.

wow - awesome sound!

Would love to see a video comparing all the different sounds people have generated with a Tuscan - and the associated exhausts.

Been drooling over a Tuscan for years - I have hired one for my wedding (3 weeks) and will be my first time driving one - hope it lives up to the expectations! If so I'll get saving! wink

If you haven't driven one before it may feel slow. Throttle pedal has a very long travel, many people new to the car only use part of the travel, which TBH is a good thing. Enjoy but be careful.

Thanks for the heads up I'll be careful! I had a track day driving experience last weekend driving a Griffith 500, I was surprised at the huge travel on the accelerator then - I'm guessing it's similar to the Tuscan?

Hope you enjoy it, but the other thing to remember is the car has big brakes use these for slowing down and not engine braking, this is another area where novices to the car come unstuck (I did it the other day listening to the over run smile ) Take it easy and it is a pussy cat. I lay a wager you'll get addicted and won't want to give it back..........

Hehe here's hoping it wins over the fiancee too as at the moment she seems to prefer porsches! (and with the 911 turbo 996's so cheap it's tempting!)
