Hired a TVR Tuscan this weekend..wow

I had a Porsche Boxster S for a couple of years, I'd always liked TVR's but I needed a daily driver and where I was living I had no garage (which I thought was mandatory for TVR ownership!) I then had to sell the Porsche for the deposit on a house - was a sad day indeed!
I got married yesterday (Saturday) and as my wedding car I decided to see if the dream lived up to the reality and hired a TVR Tuscan for the weekend (Friday-Monday..goes back tomorrow =( ). It was everything I hoped for and more. Much more roomy than the Porsche - obviously faster (I did only have the Boxster S) - but my God the sound. This was just one with a standard exhaust but the sound was just beautiful - it's like it has it's own bass line.
Much more roomy than the Porsche both inside, behind seats and regarding boot space.
Only downside I found was some parts of the interior weren't quite fitting perfectly (E.g. roof design gives extra rubber on the seals past where they perhaps should end, carpet on passenger side falling down, structure around steering wheel not quite fixed so wires can be seen).
It did rain last night and unfortunately I had to leave it in a driveway but as far as I could tell there was no leaking.
I have to say I really want one! I don't think any other car can live up to it. If it belonged to me I would see myself correcting any/all imperfections (is there anything anyone has found that can't be fixed?!) - I prefer the Mark 1 headlights but Mark 2 interior and backlights so maybe I could purchase a Mark 1 and make some upgrades?
Anyhow just wanted to share my experience - Amazed by the car, very easy to drive - love the driving position too with the raised gearstick centre area serving as a nice elbow rest =) Amazing engine and most important (because I'm a sucker for aesthetics) it just looks sublime.
My current house has a garage but we use it for fridge/freezer/tumbledryer - I'm considering building a second garage where our car port is. Is it a bad idea to keep it on a driveway or would it be ok if I made sure to keep the chasis waxoiled when it has it's annual service?

Yea there great cars, but not without the odd little fault, but you will probably find yourself tinkering with it and improving it not to mention fixing issues like the ones you have highlighted.
If you thought it sounded good on standard cans wait until it is de-catted with standard rear cans, or keep the cats in and fit some Carbon Can Company rear cans, POPS and BANGS like a firework display!!.

Hi, firstly, congratulations on the wedding! And also, congratulations on a perfect choice of wedding car! Mines been used for a couple of weddings and at my sister in laws it appears in the photos more than the happy couple and quite right too!
With regards to leaving them outside, obviously a garage is preferable but the guy who owned mine previously had it as his only car and parked it on the street. As far as I know, it didn't cause any issues and didn't leak. It's also not had any knock on effects during my 2 years of ownership either apart from a corroded window control box which has now been sorted.
The previous owner of mine is on here so maybe he will tell you more!

Congrats on the wedding and glad you enjoyed it. I use mine as a daily driver at the moment and have been going through it bit by bit.
A sorted Tuscan is an unbelievable tool, that whilst being a little frustrating every now and then is simply stunning most of the time. I took mine to Worcester today and I can't think of a better car to go in.

Good choice of car & congratulations on the wedding. They are fantastic cars & whilst there are usually niggles, they are very often easily sorted.
As mentioned, a garage is prefereable but there are many that live outside (inc mine) with no detrimental effect. Just make sure the chassis is upto scratch, buy a good cover & use it regularly.

The car Jim is talking about used to be mine and was my wedding car too. It did indeed live on the street, if you look on google earth you can see it nestled in its space!
That was my second TVR (before that had Chim 500 Y592NLO if anyone knows its whereabouts), sadly both had to live outside due to lack of garage but suffered no ill effects (apart from the senso Jim refers to apparently - sorry!).
In my case the only downside to leaving it out was the inconsiderate morons that would bump park off it. Then again, a trip to the body shop once a year would still be a darn sight cheaper than a garage in central London. Came down to the old saying, better to regret something you have done rather than something you haven't.

Thanks for all the responses guys! I might just go for popping a quick roof over the car port to keep the rain and snow off it - the wedding cleared me out financially so will take a good year to save up..but watch this space. I just don't think I could go back to a porker after experiencing a TVR - it would just be soulless in comparison!
495 though I've since seen it advertised on a different site (though I think exactly the same car) for 435 I think it was. Picked it up Friday at 2pm, dropped it back monday afternoon. Unlimited milage - 1500deposit. I'll find somewhere to upload a pic and post =)
