Noticed this post just after I put up my own topic "Tuscan 2S Baboon's Backside Light". II have a Tuscan 2S with pod dash and have done some tests. The Low, medium and high settings relate to oil temperature. Hence when cold, the red light comes on at the low setting, when about 40 deg the medium setting, and full temp 70 deg the high setting.

The warning light changes with temperature in an attempt to stop you causing damage to the engine as it warms up, would suggest that if you are that aware of when it operates you may not be doing your engine a lot of good when its coldThanks Laser. I was sensible enough to lower all of the settings substantially for testing! I've owned the car since new and have always been careful to warm up and monitor oil temp before revving above 3K. I'm grateful to you for confirming my theory. Do you know what they should be set to? I'd rather err on the low side so have them set low I suspect at the moment.
Owners manual advises <3,000rpm below 40, <4,000 rpm below 60 and <7,000rpm until 80 degrees.
Out of interest, how high will the engine rev? Seems like 7,000 is the accepted safe limit - is there a limiter? (still not taken mine over 5,000 as am new to this and keep running out of road...)
