What does the little twisty knob next to the ignition do?

Can't seem to work it out. Thought perhaps it adjusted the angle of the headlights or the level of illumination on the speedo, but from what I can tell it does neither!

Any ideas?

Oh, and it's a Mk1 Tuscan.

Does it adjust the windscreen wiper intermittant rate ?

Aha, maybe. Almost wish I'd driven it to work today so I could test that out. Certainly need the wipers with most of Bournemouth being under water!

Wiper rate. Twist it forward to go faster, backward to go slower. One of the few logical things about a TVR.

On the Mk2, could it be the one that adjusts the volume of the warning\indicator buzzer? I'm sure mine has a little V on it...
