Gah, now i feel thick. I'm sure I can't actually see them when the roof's in there, or am I wrong? My roof sits miles above them when in place.

From the look of your photo it does look like your roof isn't sitting in the boot properly as it should sit in the grooves!

Good shout, it does go in backwards doesn't it.

OP, you will know because the locator pin will line up with the notch on the roof.

Ok, I'm a total numpty. The roof has been sat in the grooves all along

Don't ask why I've never realised before. I think perhaps I see the roof sat so far forward that my brain always thought the grooves were too low down to make contact with the roof...
