Does anyone know it Tuscans were crash tested by TVR during the design process.

Another hurdle in the homologation process in France.

Thanks in advance

I don't know but I crash tested one sideways into a fence at 80 mph after some tw4t spun me off the motorway. I can report that the fiberglass disintegrated as expected but the cockpit remained pretty intact, as did the driver suffering just minor cuts and bruises smile

I belive they were, and the one tested survived the front impact test & was also used for the side impact test.

I can also confirm that they are vey strong in an accident, I walked well climbed out of my MK1 without a scratch although the car was totally destroyed.

Can't remember the figure but if a manufacturer make a certain amount of cars, they have to go through the NCAP tests.
If they make lower than this amount, then it's up to the manufacturer whether or not they do this....

Yes the tuscan was crash tested, but it was a voluntary test. I was shown a couple of videos a few years ago and from what I remember it came out of it quite well.

As David says, I believe the Tuscan was submitted to the "Offset frontal 30 mph" crash test at MIRA oooh, about 6/7 years ago. The outcome - alledgedly, was that they changed the offside wishbones and the same car was used for the next (frontal/possibly side?) test.

Again, hearsay, but I understand the MIRA boffins were quite impressed.
