Just failed the French Control Technique (MOT) on emissions. Drag link bushes, flexible brake hoses slightly corroded, and tyre sizes, I have 255/40s on the rear 235/40s on the front, according to the info he has from the French Wikipedia site they're wrong. So need something from TVR to declare the acceptable sizes, anyone got anything? 2001 Tuscan S

4.1% CO on acceleration should be 0.3 Max
5.82% CO on idle should be 0.5 max
Lambda 0.901 should be between 0.97 to 1.03

So it's de-catted, found that the ECU has Red Rose written on it, don't know if the unit was chipped when the CATs were taken out.

First thoughts are to put the CATs back in. After that, anyone any ideas?

Thanks

nrick

Hi DD

There is a possible way, the exhaust tend to suck back into the exhaust between pulses and the pipes are very large. A known cure is to block the exhausts up slightly with a rag so that the probe isn't affected. Not sure if it will get you through. Mine is running with a decat chip and seems better. In theory the adaptives should take care of it.

Only way is to try it

try contacting the tvrcc office, they probably have a tuscan spec sheet that will prove the tyre sizes, Wilkpedia is not a reliable source for information.
