roof cable slack

in my mark 1 i have noticed the release winder for one of the roof pins is slowly going from abit slack to barely actually doing anything. the consequence is that the pin doesnt pull back enough to completely disengage so much wiggling is required to remove the roof panel ... then when the panel needs to be relocated i need to poke the pin back in with ignition key and quickly drop the panel back in. neither of these things are ideal when the car looks a million bucks, sounds unreal and solicits such admiring glances...

btw. its bespoke decat by edward quick and ccc loud cans.. u can imagine the racket.. flame outs etc.. then i climb out and start fighting the roof !!

how do i go about tightening the cables ? and regaining my credibility
