How do you get this part out? and where the hell is the nut holding the dash in? I found it once before but not now.

you should be able to get your finger nail underneath it then just peel it off.

Look at the photo's I posted here - you should be able to work it out from that.

Thanks, i see now, i actually had to bolt the dash in place when i got the car, i just couldn't remember how to do it.

R.e the centre part in the pic above, i actually want to re trim that (and the dash) in black alcantara, is it going to be done in situ? i suppose its a case of just removing the vinyl, spraying down some adhesive and streching round the fabric? Possibly a few staples underneath to hold in place.

Got dash out now, should be really easy to trim with the alcantara tbh. The other side bits should also easily be re trimmed in situ too so its all looking good.

Thanks

The drivers side is the worst, got bloody cramp doing that one as well. Has to be one of the worse jobs on the car! Had to get it off to sort out the stereo wiring. Also a good time to clean the windscreen!

Any pictures of the alcantara?

I know mate, those fixings are beyond a joke hehe

No pics as of yet as i'm awaiting some samples, should look awesome though and be quite cheap providing i can trim it myself, i'm confident except for being a bit worried that i may struggle to strech the alcantara around the heater vent holes, but we shall see.
