The lighting behind the window and door opening controls flashes and changes colour red, orange, green, when driving in traffic? Anyone know what it's trying to tell me?

Mine does that too. I think it seems to indicate whether it want's me to put the window up or down, so I guess it's just the car feeling chilly.
The red shows that that it's angry that the roof is on and so is trying to blind you as punishment. Green means everything will be ok, and that I have been using enough throttle to make noise that cheers everyone up. Orange means that i've got my sunglasses on and look cool.

HTH smile

Actually... i'd quite like to know too!

I answered this a few months back see here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

The lights behind my window switches used to flash/be off for no reason, turned out to be a loose connector in the back (accessed through the radio hole). Sometimes still does it, but now I just live with it smile

Note my door switch only stays red when moving, i.e. inactive

Hi Iain, all's well, car's going great! Love it to bits. Had an incident earlier this year that did some body damage, guy pulled in to me when overtaking!! Surface and Design did the work and it's like new, very pleased. Had the bonnet mod done at same time to make engine bay access easier. He you are keeping well, if you are back over here any time and would like to see the old girl again, let me know.
Best regards
Martin

Hi Andy, don't think it's loose wires, they flash in sequence, left side on/off then right side, then stop flashing when car is moving. Centre light changes colour by speed too, when stopped in traffic turns red, then if I rev the engine prior to pulling away it changes to orange then green? Could be door lock status but I never use the inhibitor contol (centre button) it seems like there is som logic behind it.

Best regards

Martin

Martin, new one on me confused I trust you can't open the doors whilst in motion eek

Must admit I don't think I've ever pressed the centre button. If you do ever get to the bottom of it would be great if you could report back, but if everything works think I'd be tempted to ignore them and enjoy the drive driving

Cheers

I've an interesting variation

The red lights AND the green lights behind the start button are on.

All the time.

Even with the engine off and the alarm on.

Any suggestions?

Iain,
I imagine the Mitsubishi is fit for purpose in Thailand, don't think the TVR would last long on the roads you have there!
Take it easy...

I'm with you on his. Mine are green then as you pull away they go orange and then red. When you stop they turn green again. I have always thought it was door lock status.

However, it's a TVR - isn't part of the charm not knowing wink
