Off topic slightly, sorry op, but my Tuscan air box top section, has what appears to be a crease in it, and has been filled with silicone along the harline crack.
My question to anyone who knows is, How do the air box tops get damaged so easily and why ? Is it carelessness beyond belief by service agents or just that they are extremely fragile.
I have seen many posts over the years asking for second hand units, at prices of around £300.
Sorry once again for stealing the thread, but intrigued now.

I think the problem maybe that when the clips are pushed/locked down it puts pressure on the upper part of the box and can split it.
Thats what happened to mine.
I repaired mine with glue and activator which is actually used by upvc window fitters
its basically a really strong superglue. You just put the glue on both sides you want to stick then spray the activator making it go off straight away.
Has held up so far.
You could use some actual fibreglass matt and resin but i always worried about it coming unstuck and getting sucked in the engine
I'm sure if done right it would be okay, its just i had some of that glue so used it instead.

There are carbon fibre options circa £1000 and you would be hard pushed to get a good second one as they all go the same way eventually. Do you have any more info on the glue and activator.
Cheers

I'll check the names and let you know asap.Cheers
Not sure if you've seen this post as someone is making new airboxes for £499. Also probably cheaper than buying from a salvage yard.
