I'm home, car now in it's garage, it wasn't the AA that came out to me so will need to get them to fix the car tomorrow. I do carry a spare throttle cable but as it got dark and being on the hard shoulder I suppose it's not the place to fit it.

As i'm in London today the car is not needed so have arranged for the AA to visit tomorrow morning, will see if the AA guy is up to the job of replacing the cable or whether it will just be a visit to Str8Six. Got warranty with them so it should not cost me anything. smile

Steve,

When the AA arrive, you could pull up Graham Varley's SP6 stuff on your laptop.

There's a description of how to replace the throttle cable - and a couple of 'photos at the pedal end and throttle butterfly end. It doesn't look that hard to me!

If he has the wherewithall on his van, he could just go for renewing the 'inner'.

yikes Laptop??????
I must admit that the last time the cable snapped the AA guy managed to fit a temporary replacement cable. They seem to carry a roll of cable (inner) with different fittings to suit most situations. The spare that I carry is just the inner which should suffice if they do need to use that. smile

Though with me saying that, the guy that turns up tomorrow will knowing my luck, take one look and run. frown

I reeled of a few special swear words.

Ah, the TVR position. That's why the roof comes off, to make more space for your feet while your head is in the footwell. wink
