IIRC, they should just push back in....assume you've undone the resevoir cap?? To allow for displacement of fluid?

I think I used a 'Record' G-clamp to push mine in. Put a 'bridge' across the piston, then the fixed part around the caliper body with the screwed foot on the bridge, slowly screw in to move the piston back into the caliper body. Simples.

You have to screw them back in, but it can require a push at same time as turning if piston is a long way out. I have one of the proper tools for it which makes it much easier.

Ford sierra wind back tool, at little cost.

Otherwise rotate with circlip pliers & push in at same time.

As above make sure reservoir does not spill over

£20 for a wind back tool. You need a bit of pressure on the piston whilst turning. And one tip from me, as i cocked this up last time i changed the pads, make sure the piston sits at the correct rotation to accept the ' bud' on the back of the pad so that it doesnt cock over and wear unevenly!
