Is it just me or does anyone else melt their left hand on the gear lever knob (what did you think I was talking about??)when they've been driving around for more than an hour. It'll be great in the winter, but a tad annoying when it's warm. My wife says I'll have a burn mark on my left palm if I'm not careful...like the one on my other hand she says...don't know what she's talking about?? Anyone else affected by this affliction? The gear lever knob I mean!

There was a fix for this at the dealer. I think that it involved something as simple as a plastic washer. Maybe worth checking the forums or giving your dealer a call.

Mine gets quite hot, particularly on a sunny day, it is a major issue but I'd be interested in finding out if there is a simple fix. Have to say, it is great in the winter for defrosting fingers that have had too much of the 'cooling breeze' from the pod vents.

There was a mod for this on early Tuscans involved some sort of heatsink between the gearlever & g/box. Had mine done although it still get's hot, but not as bad as it was as you could hardly touch it on a warm day.

Perhaps mine has been done already then, it has only been that hot once; blistering sunshine and over 2 hours on the motorway.

I find that mine only gets really hot after it's been parked up with a hot engine. After a few minutes driving it cools down again.

My gearstick does the same thing.

Had exactly same problem.

Had rubber insert fitted by dealer and gear stick does not get as hot!

Just bin the standard knob and fit a carbon fibre one, no more heat problems, (shows you how long they test drive cars at blackpool for before launching them!!!!!)
