Got all the dash etc back on the 2S I'm restoring yesterday, but whilst poking around in the driver's footwell I noticed what is clearly a steering position sensor on the column. Does this mean that I have to have the rotational position of the column aligned appropriately with the wheels in the straight ahead position? When I replaced the steering rack, I didn't realise this, so the gap in the sensor wheel is currently in a random position. Is this gap meant to be at the bottom (where the sensor itself is) when the wheels are straight?

And if so, is there any way of adjusting the sensor wheel itself, or am I going to have to disconnect the linkage from the rack and do it at that end (murder now everything's back together in the engine bay)?

Any help gratefully received!

Even if it's just somebody looking underneath their steering column and seeing what direction their wheels are pointing when the gap in the sensor wheel is at the bottom.

Thanks!

Yes, TVR Power confirmed the same thing today (but more politely - Morris 1000's system was somewhat more obvious!).

And in my defence, their first reply was sensor? What sensor?!

Means I do have to take the damned rack of again though. Either that or cancel my own indicators, Shock Horror!
