Leak on drivers door...strange

On the way back from chatsworth my drivers door mirror got possessed, driving itself to the extremes of movement. I tried to adjust to find that the switch was damp. Upon looking a bit longer i realised that there was water tracking along the bottom of the aluminium door trip where the door card tucks under.

Now i know it was exceptional circumstances on Sunday....my car has never leaked before, but going to strip it back to have a look, but i didn’t think water would come in there...so kind of baffled a little? It whilst on the m’way, extended running around 60-70mph....

Any ideas?

My car leaks in the same place, water trickles down and collects in the wing mirror control. Only does it when driving in the rain though. My leak comes from a little gap left at the top of the leading edge of the window where it meets the roof. Sounds like yours might not be so obvious!
