Rear spoiler help
Discussion
Hi, Mine is being fitted by racing green at the moment.
The rear spoiler is bolted one. The nuts are concealed inside the spoiler. you can buy the parts from here: www.damagedtvrs.co.uk
once its bolted on sealent is the used on the seams where it joins. you will have to drill holes into the boot - it attaches directly behind the bootlid. As for the T-Bar, its a bonnet off job. i believe its relatively simple to do. racing green are fitting this too as the car is having a few bits and pieces done this week - made sense for them to fit it whilst the bonnet is off.
I believe the T-bar is suspended from the chassis???
I will be at sunday service if you want to have a look!

From looking at the cars at chatsworth, it appears that the spoiler is bolted on as there was quite a few with daylight between the body and the spoiler on close inspection.
I have fitted the front splitter. The T bar fixes on the same points as the lower bonnet bolts. You will need to get an 8mm rod to go through the underside of your grill and screw into the T-Bar, this rod then goes through the splitter where you just chuck a nut on the 8mm bar to secure it.
Top tip, you want to spread the load on the bottom of the splitter as it will just fold in half at speed if you just use the single bolt from the T-Bar, so put some form of reinforcing bar beneath and use as many screws and bolts as possible to secure it in place, you cant have too many as that splitter takes quite a pounding when hooning.

Thanks for all the detailed advice.
The rear of car is being resprayed and the repairer is keen to press on. I have the parts on order from fibreon but wasn't sure if I needed to delay painting if the spoiler had to be bonded on.
I can cope with taking the main bonnet off to fit the front splitter, but I wasn't sure if the front grill needed to come off.
Top tip on spreading the load on the splitter, is there no metal insert in the glass fibre where the bolt goes through?

Hi,
rear spoile fitting is a easy 30min job.
1.) remove the carped around the boot lock.
2.) use a Dremel multi tool or a hole saw on the inner cover sheet to get your hand thru to the outer body.
3.) use a power driller for the 4 fixing points (use some tape around the point you want to drill)
4.) 4 screws with washers to fit..and some high temp. silicon for sealing (the spoiler has already threads)
5.) glue the carped back on
thats it...sorry for my broken english

Got the spoiler and splitter through from Fibreon. Very well made and finished. Not sure why previous threads have described the front splitter as heavy, it's only 2 - 3mm thick single skin? I can't believe a carbon fibre one would be much lighter, might be stiffer though?
Anyway, the rear spoiler has a couple of shallow rectangular recesses (about 2" x 6", but I haven't measured them) on the underside which look a lot like they are for rubber "spacer" pads to go between the spoiler and the body, can anyone confirm this?
Thanks!

The shallow rectangles you mention are there to drain the water when it rains otherwise you'll end up with a rather large puddle and a wet boot! Thanks!
Thanks again - best if I don't fill the cut outs with rubber then
Rear end of car is being re-painted, so spoiler will be done at same time to match.
Yet another question, does anyone know how far forward the front splitter should project in front of the grille (I need to know where to drill the hole in the splitter, so a dimension for this from the front edge of the splitter would do instead)?
Cheers

As far as I'm aware it's personal preference. Do bare in mind that the further forward it is, the more likely you are to catch it!
