thinking of buying bits from a Cat B 2000 Tuscan
Discussion
Came across a light blue tuscan Mk1 at a breakers and just wondered if anyone knew it and any history.
Chassis ID has been removed as is Cat B but the registration is marked on the exhaust back boxes for some reason and appears to be V9--HHL. Car has quite heavy body damage and several wheels have chunks out of the rims but looks mechanical sound and the cockpit area is all good so hopefully no one got hurt in the accident.
Any info out there ??
Cheers

Geoff, what would be the reason for buying a damaged one, Is it a good price?, track car etc. I ask because unless you have really good knowlage of these cars it is in my opinion a huge risk! in fact buying a "normal" one is a bit of a risk!. I would not buy a Tuscan based on it being an affordable bargain because it could quiet honestly cost you another £10k+ to get it reliable and useable. If you are after a Tuscan my advise would be to buy a known car from th PH classifieds, yes it will be more money but honestly I think it would be a far better buy and value than buying a broken one.
As I said at the beggining it may be you have a certain purpose for buying from a breaker if so you pays youre money etc.....
I used to own a crystal topaz mk1 which had an argument with a hedge a few years ago. Not sure what the reg number is now as it was on a private plate which I transferred. Do you have any pics of the car in question? I did see mine on ebay shortly after the accident, but believe it was being advertised as Cat D so might not be the car youve seen.
Mine sustained damage to most panels, particularly the front/headlight clusters. was approx 60000 miles or so, with a sort of khaki coloured interior. be interested to know if its the same car!

yes , I am looking at building a track only project and have a collection of other parts , namely a bare chassis ( also with no ID ) a complete set parts to make the four corners. So am looking at obtaining the brakes and the body tub and possibly the engine ( but would love an AJP ) and then go and have a chat with Plastic man about detattachable front and rear body work to make access to the mechanical bits easy. Obivously it's an ambitious project and will be no where as good as the new Str8six race car but I can dream.....This car has a blue interior and busted wishbones at the front passenger side and possibly the drivers side too. The brake calipers and disks look brand new as does the exhaust but one of the rear carbon cans was ripped off and took a bit of the tube from the back box with it.
And yes Cat b means break for parts only.
And it's not at one of the regular breakers......
