Advice-----what to buy ?

hello all, great forum (been reading it for days!!), first post here, with a few questions. sorry if this topic been covered before !
i am certainly going to purchase a tvr, i need some advice on which beast to go for. i do not have any preferance as of yet, but i am sure it will either be a t350c or a tuscan. the car will be used daily and i anticipate 1000 miles per month. my budget is £40k max. i do alot of motorway in the week, and b roads w'end, and need to be able to get golf clubs and suit carrier in. able to purchase from sept onwards.
have any of you ran both ? pro's and con's against either ? running costs of either ? space diff between 350 and tuscan.
if i go tuscan, should i save much more (with extras) and get my name down for the tuscan 2?
is there any theory/truth that new models will not have same issues as older speed six?

Had my Tuscan 2 weeks and thrilled to bits, Its not a family car, but its my daily drive , massive boot will do the G clubs and WHEN we have the sun off with the roof and pop it in the boot.
It was the 2000 year Tuscans with the problems I believe .
Dont get a Tuscan 2 they dont look as good !

my Tuscan s is for sale at a Tad under your budget, Only just about run in and £15k cheaper than a new one without the waiting list also.....
Fergus, you lucky bugger with 40k to spend on your 1st TIV, you could have got 2 kids, 1 DOG, Wife for half of the week, a gorgeous S3 and still have 30k spare for the playboy life if you had've contacted me sooner.

Nobody here will be able to convince you either way which way to proceed, just do whatever you you feel is good for you, oops and not forgetting your Partner.

I went to look at a T350 a couple of weeks ago and you won't get a set of clubs in the boot without altering the position of the passenger seat.
I've had two sets and a trolley in the back of the Tuscan.
I'd go with the previous advise. Get a used, sorted Tuscan and a runner for work

Deppends on the size of the bag, i can get a set in mine no problem wedging it in thearea were the fuel filler opener is.
I have run both, the tuscan is more for fun, top down motoring, the t350 is a more focusded sports car.

I think that comment needs expanding upon! Its a rather sweeping statement to apply to 2000 model year Tuscans. In recent weeks there have been posts about finger followers in much later cars, and I know for a fact that 2002 cars still had the dodgy finger follower problem.
The problem does seem to have been sorted out now with TVR rebuilding a high proportion of 2000-2002 cars. If buying used, I would recommend one that has had a rebuild and been taken care of. Saying that, I know a chap who did 40,000 miles in his first Tuscan and used it as an every day car. It was a 2000 model and never required a rebuild. He has got another one now.
What you need to concern yourself about if buying new is rapid depreciation. Trying selling a one year old £45000 specialist sports car say for £40K. At that price, most people will either stretch themselves to buy new, or expect to pay that for a used model from a dealer. Hence the dealer will give you £35-36K for it. You can easily lose £10K in 12 months, or £15-18K in 24 months. There are no pockets in shrouds and these are seriously eye catching and fast cars - so maybe you don't mind. But I think it is something that you need to factor into your decision making process.
As said before, the Tuscan boot is huge and the T350 does not have a conventional boot at all. More a hatchback with a "deck" which may give some people security issues if carry bulky golf bags. The other beauty of the Tuscan, of course, is that the roof and window come out for wind in the hair motoring.
thanks very much for these comments, i am going to start the ball rolling by getting behind the wheels of a tuscan and tuscan s, in order that i can 'try' and settle for a type.
i mean, i'm taking such a quantum leap anyway in performance, i dont know if i will be able to appreciate the enhancement of the s, its a heart over head job me feels.........any thoughts?
