I would be thinking 'rebuild'.
My 2000 Tuscan had a rebuild at 35k miles.
Having said that, its priced to allow for a rebuild and not leave you in a negative value position so I think very fair.
There obviously may be one or two other bits to do like suspension or geometry but I still think that it could easily be an excellent buy.

I spied this earlier. Alarm bells were ringing when i was reading the advert for some reason it maybe perfectly genuine but seems fishy to me. Its worth nothing that there is one in this country for sale for 10k on ebay. It has the "S" rear end which is the best (biased) but a sketchy front and i would imadgine it would need rebuilt.

Spoke to the garage in Northern Ireland that has been servicing this car,and he advised me not to consider buying,as the owner before the guy who is selling, didnt look after it, and basically didnt give a st weather the car was warmed up correctly at start up etc

Or at that price it's worth taking on and putting a 4.3 rebuild in and 15k gets a warrantied fast Tuscan. As it's an old model, wearing more miles than some, allegedly been a bit abused and for sale in a skint country you may even get it for less...

It's not just the engine though - clutch and gearbox (poss another 2k to spend there), electrics, chassis condition, suspension? That plus the fact a 4.3 is MINIMUM £8400 which give a cost of £16,900 plus the £500 (+VAT) for the injectors and starter motor and that depends upon nothing else being required with the rebuild - mine for example needs a relined block and a few other bits and pieces on top taking the total cost to £10k plus so that bargain Tuscan could indeed turn out to be quite a money pit.
