Picked up my first Tuscan today. bounce A 2000 model in Titanium, needs a small bit of cosmetic work but mechanically very good.

Definitely different to the Chim 500 which now bacomes the wifes property.Hhaven't had chance to give it beans yet but first impression is yikesbiglaughrotate

Ok, first question. readit The LCD screen is showing a battery voltage of 13.5. Is that about right? I am wondering if the battery might be tired. It has hesitated on a couple of hot starts.

Welcome to the Tuscan crew. I swapped from a Griff. Different as chalk and cheese. My T is reading 13.5 with no probs. Hope you have as many happy miles as I do.

Congrats on your purchase. I'm on my second Tuscan and have just bout another chimaera.
Still love the chimaera but just to ask, if your wife can't candle the 500, I would be willing to exchange it for my 400 wink

Thanks for the welcome. I am afraid like most things with women its the colour of the Chim she likes more than the oily bits like engine sizebiggrin

The Tuscan decided not to let me have any cabin air con, heater fan or temp control this morning. No LED's, nothing at all. But that looks like just removing three allen screws to get to the gubbings.

Yep, that's pretty normal. You'll get used to doing without hehe

I understand it's the heater control unit which is located above the passenger foot well. Can be refurbished.

Mine was easy, just under a bit of loose carpet held in place by a giant zip cord. Took me less than a minute to find and remove.

Splendid, it all started working again on the way home so whatever the problem is it is intermittent.

OK second question.readit. When you buy a Tuscan you go through the usual routine (engine rebuild? LCD panel replaced? Chassis solid? Oil pressure? etc etc). You do not necessarily take the roof out, just explained how it works. Now I find that the off side release lever in the boot has no cable attached to it and no sign of one up the orrifice above. So I can't get the roof out cry Big job or little job sorting this one out? (could kick myself for thinking that the obvious bits would be working)

Oh dear, that sucks.

Can't be of much help, however by sticking /gassing after the google search you get quite a few relevant results

OK, slight backward step. After digging out a lot of carpet (why so much up there) I have found the cable. Still attached to a curved metal lever which is no longer attached to the 'handle' due to a fatigue fracture. Pull the remaining curved piece and hey presto the bolt slides and the roof can come out. Now I need a double jointed neck to see exactly what can be done to return the system to normal.
