Discussion
I have totally fallen for the Reflex Charcoal Tuscan convertible at Str8six, despite initially setting my heart on buying an S.
With the car not being of S specification, it would seem to be priced ever so slightly high (HHC are selling "the best" Tuscan S which is younger for the same money). Would anybody agree that this is big money for a non S car? Has anyone seen the car or know just how long the car has been forsale?
Having read numerous glowing reviews on here, it appears that the fact that Str8six are selling the car is a major plus (warrany / expertise etc / sorted car etc) and I appreciate that the mileage is very low but at that price it's out of my price range , although not by much. Which is the reason for my post.
Having never dealt with Str8six personally, would anyone be willing to share their experiences of any negotiating done with Str8six when purchasing from them? Do they take kindly to offers or are they more... that's what we say it's worth, take it or leave it?
Cheers

Jason and Chas are top guys, and they do seem to sell some really spot on cars. I've never bought from them, but have sold a car to them and had my other cars serviced by them. The service has always been exceptional.
From selling a car to Str8Six, I know that they do pay good money for a 'decent/proper' car, and therefore, by the time they have prep'd the car etc, it is probably reflected in the end selling price. I don't think they make huge amounts on sales.
Anyway, as said, prob best to speak to Chas or Jason.

OP - another thumbs up from me for Jason and Chas.
Both know TVRs inside out and impeccable customer service.
You only have to search through on PH for references - all good!

And another here, just sold mine via Chas - got a good price and transaction was painless. You may pay a bit more to buy from Str8six but you will get a no quibble warranty which takes the stress out of owning it. Both know TVRs inside out and impeccable customer service.

str8six do seem to be the top guys within the tvr world,
best work, best servicing, and sell the best cars and the general jist you get from the forum is the are honest about everything
also from the other side hexham have a envious reputation "up north" and would be of a equal company to deal with from what i hear
mine has always been serviced at hexham though ive yet to deal with either but both names on here hold a grand reputation from the research ive done

I bought mine from Jason. It was not the cheapest Tuscan in the market but it doesn't mean over priced. As everyone mentioned here they are a pleasure to do business with. They sorted out everything within the Warranty period, only a few minor things - like air conditioning, and some switches, with not a single question about "arrrrr or hmmmmm".
Their cars seemed to be selling like hot cakes at some point, and I did joke with Jason that he must be making loads of money just by selling cars. He looked into my eyes and told me, he just covers his cost for turning the cars round. He only buys good cars and he prefers to establish the long term customer relationship and hoping you will go back for any future services/ maintenance.

Take the point about them wanting a buyer becoming a long term customer but its hard to believe that a non S car can be up for that price without a fairly hefty a mark up. All of the well known dealers seem to be pricing cars high (especially good cars).
The red S at HHC as has been stated is a superior model for the same price. They also have a standard at less than £30k which is younger, although more miles. Unfortunately the colour of both is a put off and I prefer the one a Str8six. Bloody Typical!!
Anyway I'm going to try and view the car this weekend and will hope that they may be open to an offer. Wish me luck!

I have brought 2 cars from Jason and sold one back to him, as well as having them serviced, so have experienced all sides of the deal. Always an absolute pleasure to deal with and always very honest. When I sold the one back to them, the money was there straight away with no delay, and when I purchased, there was some room for negotiation.
I have also looked at the Reflex Tuscan convert, it's very nice in deed. The only reason stopping me from buying it was that it is totally covered in amourfend/protection film. Some may see that as a bonus, but I don't like the stuff. I would rather keep the money that it costs and put it on towards a re-paint when needed.
Anyway good luck, you will definately fall in love with the car, just hope you can secure a deal.

There is a lovely grey Tuscan S that has just come up for sale on PH privately, Although a cat C it was sold via STR8 6 last summer and was discussed at length on here, It turned out that all damage was done to a very very high standard and was then inspected by Jason who is the worlds biggest perfectionist, who considered it good enough to put his name to, I recall about 3 guys trying to buy it but it sold within 2 days, I would buy that car myself if I was in the market.

Was very tempted by this - but after careful consideration and a trip to Racing green round the corner (where they ignored my presence completely..again) I've decided I just prefer the rear end of the standard Tuscan's more flowing lines =/ Hi, if you are looking for a fantastic tuscan covert s I can recommend my best friends-blue car, it's got low miles, just been serviced by str6 and is at racing green being sold SOR.
It truly is a nice looking car, if you get time just pop down to see it, you won't be disappointed ..
All the best, Gordon

Thanks Gordon,
Is it on their website? I'm a way from there so not easy to just pop down.
Got my heart set on Reflex Charcoal (unfortunately) but I have an idea what the cars worth and if they don't agree then I'll walk away and will be looking again.
Is your S reflex Charc btw? Looks lovely
