Slightly obscure question, could anyone check whether the rear brake caliper should have washers between the mounting bracket and the caliper (as spacers)?

Mine have been reassembled in this way, but it doesn't look right to me...

Also, I now have a brake judder problem with the rear brakes so I'm somewhat suspicious.

Any help gratefully received (wheel off job I'm afraid), a photo would be even better!

(its a 2001 Red Rose btw, in case that makes a difference)

Do you mean between the carrier and the upright?

Yes, between the caliper and the mounting face on the upright. It looks to me like the washers should be under the bolt heads (i.e. between the bolt heads and the upright).

Thanks

Washers between bolt heads and carrier on mine but nothing between carrier and upright.

It's a good job I checked for you as I've just noticed one of my rear Nitron springs has cracked. frown

Many thanks!

Sorry to hear about your spring though, still best to know I guess...

I need to get back to my repairer and get him to look at putting the caliper on again.

Thanks!
