Mine does this if not used for a while. I think it's a sticky solenoid. If I keep pressing the door release button it eventually fires and opens the door.

Might just be a loose wire. If the window has dropped, have you opened the door via the red handle and then tried to 'open' it again using the solenoid?

Take the door card off and see if a wire has come loose. If you can get top the plug easily, connect a 12v bulb across the contacts and see if it is getting any voltage when you 'open' the door.

The solenoid is inside the car, not the door.

Good spot - just testing to see if you were awake wink

So revised advice:

Might just be a loose wire. If the window has dropped, have you opened the door via the red handle and then tried to 'open' it again using the solenoid?

Take the small silver panel off the car and see if a wire has come loose. If you can get to the plug easily, connect a 12v bulb across the contacts and see if it is getting any voltage when you 'open' the door.

To change this solenoid its a real pain!
I tried to change because my solenoid is also a bit "weak" but i
only get bloddy fingers, so the solenoid has to work 2 times to open properly.
At least you have to take out the seat to get a bit space, to see something is only possible with a mirror!

If anyone has a good solution to get this stuff out, pls give me a mail!

Having thought about it a bit more, can you get access to the solenoid if you remove the trim panel under the rear quarter light? I have speakers in this panel and I'm not sure if that is where they were fitted by default. Mine simply lift in and out (with a bit of a wiggle), you may also have to move the seatbelt loop slightly. There should be a reasonable amount of access to get your hands and arms in there albeit watch the fibreglass splinters 'cos I'm sure there will be loads ready and waiting to scratch your wrists and arms etc.

You can but as said, access is tight. I had to take one of the seat belts out a while ago and there isn't much room.
