Track Day Done
Discussion
As the title says, got my first track day under my belt yesterday. A 2 hour open pit lane session at Knockhill. Scared myself witless at first, had a spin onto the grass and everything. Then took a half hour of instruction and really started getting the best out of the car and myself. As we all know Tuscans are quite fast, but you should have seen the speed of some of the race prepped machines! 3 1/2 hours to the track- 2 hour track session and 3 1/2 hours back home, 410 miles all in and the car didn't miss a beat, well chuffed.
Kev, I'm north of KH in Lossiemouth. No I didn't change the brake fluid, just put my tyres to 25psi all round, and off I went. If I go back though, I'd put the tyres up to 27psi. It's also worth double checking the engine coolant as the car will run high rpm, but relatively low speed for a lot of the lap.
Two days before the event, a guy called Hamish posted on the trackscotland forum. It was a half hour slot for £30. Worth the money. But he gets booked up really quickly. He's an independent who has worked with a lot of the quick track day drivers.try facebook/gloveboxguide, that's his page.

I need to get back up when my gear box is re-built it pops out of second and is annoying when you come down the back straight in to the hair pin. But it really shows you what TVR's can really do.
