Hello ladies n gents.
What's the latest opinion on aftermarket warranties for a Tuscan. Mine's a 2000 S, rebuilt by Str8 six and all going nicely.
It's in totally fine fettle, but worth considering the options in maintenance.
Just wondering about what warranties there are, what experiences people have and if they cover the usual suspects e.g clutch, pod etc.

The AA offer a warranty of sorts.
For £[not very much] they'll cover up to £500 of parts costs if your car breaks down / won't start etc.
The previous owner of my car got a nice subsidy on a new clutch earlier this year courtesy of the AA.
If, however, you mean a warranty from one of the aftermarket warranty companies then look very carefully at the T&Cs.
On my Tamora a few years back the warranty provided by the dealer wouldn't cover a (£200) door switch after it failed, causing the door to open whilst driving. Then it wouldn't open when I wanted it to. Credit to the dealer, he paid out of his own pocket for the repair when he found out that the warranty wouldn't cover it. I can't find the name of the company but, even if I could I'm sure it would fall foul of "name & shame" rule. FWIW, I do remember that it was the "Platinum Plus" level of cover I had.....

I've had good dealings with the AA breakdown repair cover, and it's pretty cheap for the cover it gives you.
If your engine has been rebuilt then there's no major worries on that front so the £500 from the AA cover should be enough for most niggles.
If you do go the whole hog, then check any warranty includes consequential loss. I.e. headgasket goes, they pay for whatever needs doing as a result, not just for a headgasket!

Most of the warranty policies are not worth the paper they are written on they wriggle like greased weasels and always have a way out. Not a TVR but my daughters care put aconrod through the block three and a half years old full service history warranty company said they do not cover fasteners and fixings reckon the big end bolt came loose. Absolute rubbish the big end cap went out the side of the block of course the bolt is loose the part it was torqued up on has broken up. Put the £1k they will charge a year away and use for any problems with a full rebuild from Jason you will be quids in.

I would also say they are not worth the money...if you want a TVR or any car really), keep an extra bit (large) bit back for maintenance early on, not that you defo need it.
When I bought my Tuscan S, I had a warranty with the RAC - 2003 car bought in May 2010 from Pure Lotus in Leeds. Sold me a Platinum version, so the dogs b****ks so I thought. My clutch failed within the 12 months, covered under the parts list and Ian in TorqueRVT took a look.
Couldn't claim. Assessor came out, and on leaving said it was no problem. Following day Ian had a call to say they weren't paying out, said it was a manufacturing defect. I played holy moly with them and they said take it up with the manufacturer. (I didn't bother ringing Smolenski).
First time I'd ever had a warranty - and never again !
